Taft Elementary School on Toleman Road has had problems with its street crossing warning light broken for some time.
On Monday evening, Legislator Kathy Stegenga presented a $5,000 check to Mayor Tom Devinko and board members that will enable them to have the
fixture repaired and keep the 562 cchildren who attend the school safe when they enter and leave the premises.

Stegenga said that the Legislature was able to receive state money for things like this in a majority of other schools in the County as well.
