Village of Washingtonville Pays Respects and Gives Thanks to Veterans

About 35 residents, veterans, and friends and family of veterans gathered at

their Veterans Memorial Park on Monday to recognize Veterans Day with prayers, friendship, and the Pledge of Allegiance by a local Boy Scout Troop and a speech by their Troop Leader. Check back later, as we are waiting for the thoughtful and patriotic words spoken and followed by prayers. A mood of sadness for those lost, joy and pride in their shared service to country. and shared companionship and compassion filled the area of the Veterans Park which is a well-loved park near the Village Center.

The Boy Scouts were attired to perfection in their uniforms, hands placed on their hearts, and looked ready to take their place serving their community anytime they are needed.
