The Honorable Brett Broge, being sworn
in as a New York Supreme Court Judge
Blooming Grove is particularly proud today and congratulations are pouring in from around the region to the five newest New York Supreme Court Judges, one known locally as the affable and intellectual homegrown cream of the crop, the Honorable Brett Broge.
As a very visible Chairman of the Orange County Democratic Party in recent years. he has become well known both to local leaders and the public.
Stern on following the law but also passionate about protecting the legal rights of the poor, Broge has put in his time. He spent 20 years as a civil and criminal trial attorney, most of the time working out of Goshen, and was also a supervising attorney for Orange County Legal Services.
The race was tight, as can be seen in the chart below, with the percentages of votes ranging from 10.74 to 11.50. All of the top 5 were "cross-endorsed" by Democrats and Conservatives.
We wish these important New York leaders the best in their new endeavor.
The swearing-in event was very well attended, and Broge and the new judges were surrounded by friends and family.
