Sheriff Carl DuBois walks out of the Orange County Sheriff's Office for the last time in uniform as he enters retirement

GOSHEN – Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois’ law enforcement career ended with a formal walk-out on Thursday.

DuBois was the longest serving sheriff in the county, for 20 years, and in that time, he said his team brought the office into the 21st century.

“We’ve had people involved with the United States Marshals, with the gang task force, with the white-collar crime force the FBI has, our special operations group which responds to all municipalities in a professional manner. Our special operations group is highly trained, one of the three agencies in New York State that is allowed to execute federal warrants and also to work with the elite FBI hostage rescue team,” he said.
