Orange County Offers List of Available Exams for Competitive Civil Service Jobs

Orange County Civil Service has announced the following civil service Open Competitive examinations:

AGING SERVICES SPECIALIST, AGING SERVICES SPECIALIST (Sp/Eng Speaking),

COMMUNITY HEALTH OUTREACH SUPERVISOR,

HEAD CUSTODIAN,

LIBRARY MULTI-MEDIA TECHNICIAN,

POLICE CHIEF A and POLICE CHIEF B,

PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATOR (Sp/Eng Speaking),

REAL PROPERTY INFORMATION TECHNICIAN, and TECHNICAL ASSISTANT.

The deadline to apply for the exams is January 31, 2024, and the exams will be administered on March23, 2024. The application fee for these exams is $25 with the exception of AGING SERVICES SPECIALIST

and AGING SERVICES SPECIALIST (Sp/Eng Speaking) which have no fee and POLICE CHIEF A and POLICE

CHIEF B which have a fee of $50. Application fees must be paid by check or money order payable to the COMMISSIONER OF FINANCE at the time of application. Cash is not accepted.

Applications are available on the Department of Human Resources page on the County’s website or picked up at the Department of Human Resources at the Orange County Government Center. Completed applications must be received at the Department of Human Resources at the Orange County

Government Center, 255 Main Street, Goshen, NY 10924 by the end of business on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, or postmarked by that date.

Once approved to take the examination, Orange County Civil Service Unit will reach out to the approved applicants with the exam location and time via mail. These tests are being administered to establish lists of eligible candidates for positions within Orange County departments as well as various municipalities,

including, police departments, school districts, and libraries throughout the County.
