It's Official! Chester Elementary School to Have New Life as Hi-Tech Ed Center

County Exec, Steve Neuhaus signing the contract

This week County Executive announced that the Maple Avenue School in Chester is now officially owned by the County. After a trip to Taiwan, Neuhaus became even more excited about the prospect the former Elementary School becoming a "State of the Art" technical education center. He had been given tours of various facilities and locations in Taiwan and was impressed by both the environmental cleanups that haave been accomplished in recent years, and the technical AI advances, chip and cable manufacturing capabilities. Orange County has even become a "sister city" to one of those sites, and he is enthused about the potential of Orange County becoming a significant trade partner.

"Neuhaus gave a big thank you to the Chester Union Free School District for working with us tio make this happen. We have exciting plans for this building that will bring real benefits to our residents. Stay tuned!"

No doubt we will be receiving years of news updates about this accomplishment as well as its implications for the County and rest of New York State. In fact, in his Neucast address this week he said that related companies from all over the US have plans to visit and consider siting business locations here in the coming months.
