Goshen – A feasibility study into whether there is a need for a conference center in Orange County is about to begin.
A consulting firm has been selected and funding is coming from the county tourism budget as well as a $55,000 grant from the state.
County Economic Development Director Steven Gross said there is a need for such a facility in Orange County.
“We think the need is there. There is a lot of interest in conferences in the county and there is still a bit of a deficit with those spaces with respect to where we are holding them,” he told the county legislature’s oversight committee on Friday.
Gross said a feasibility study could be completed as soon as May.
