Breaking News! County Exec, Steve Neuhaus Wants to Buy Museum Village

MONROE – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus says he would like to have serious discussions with officials of Museum Village, the recreated early American village in Monroe about purchasing the living museum.

He claims the village is facing financial difficulties and he would like to buy it for $1 and continue its legacy as a county historical park.

“In my opinion, the best way to save it is to put it in the county’s hands, put a protective covenant on the property so even if it ever changed hands somewhere down the road, it would always be preserved as an historical park type of location,” he said.

Officials of Museum Village did not return a call for comment about the proposal on Monday.
