Former Sheriff Carl DuBois, a Republican, Endorses Skoufis
State Senator James Skoufis (D-Orange County) announced that he has received the endorsement of former Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois, a Republican. DuBois, the longest-serving sheriff in county history and the third-longest in New York State, retired in 2022 after two decades of exceptional service.
“Senator James Skoufis has always been a friend to law enforcement,” said Sheriff DuBois. “It’s rare that I endorse and even rarer that I endorse a Democrat, but between his tenured experience in the Senate and common sense approach to public safety, James has my full support for re-election.”
“As a longtime partner in county law enforcement to me and my team, Carl DuBois’ support means the world to me,” said Skoufis. “Regardless of party affiliation, our men and women in blue know that I’ve always stood up for them in Albany – pushing back against misguided decisions by colleagues, and advocating for more and better resources. I’ll continue to fight for the first responders who keep our communities safe.”
Carl has lost his mind, he just endorsed a dem in the last Orange County Sheriff's race. Carl is no longer a republican.
