Spring leaped into Summer like the tiger lillies popping up along the roads, and while residents were grateful for the breaks in over 90 degree afternoons, the straight line winds and sidewise rain were frightening and left monstrous trees scattered in yards. Electric service workers tackled the mess throughout the day yesterday. Prospect Road was closed from the curve past Peddler Hill, South Merriwold was also closed with multiple wires down. And at the corner of Craigville Road (Route 51) and Greycourt Road a huge tree was spread across the property along with downed lines.
