Blooming Grove Ambulance Corps Authorization for Move to Highway Dept. Property in the Works

The necessity for the Town of Blooming Grove to relocate its Ambulance Corps has been in discussions for several years. Their current location on North Street in the Village of Washingtonville has become increasingly treacherous during times of high traffic as Village traffic continues to grow, and being just a block from its center puts both ambulance personnel and the public at risk. When a serious emergency calls for their urgent action the Route 208/Route 94 Intersection is at times congested by commuter and school traffic. The North Street site is also a cramped space with no space to grow. Meanwhile, the Blooming Grove Highway Department has ample acreage to accommodate their needs and any future growth. Officials spent time this year mapping out site plans to ensure that both entities will be able to enter and exit the site without interfering with each other. And so, the Blooming Grove Town Board passed the following resolution on Tuesday evening (July 3, 2024).

Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corp Conveyance for an Ambulance Facility Resolution Approving the Conveyance of Town Property (Section 10-Block 1-Lot 45) to the Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corps for an Ambulance Facility.

This Resolution is subject to Permissive Referendum, pursuant to NYS Town Law Article 7 and shall become effective 30 days from June 18, 2024, unless a petition is filed with the Town Clerk within 30 days of June 18, 2024 protesting against such Resolution and such petition is signed and authenticated as required by NYS Town Law, Article 7.
