ejreporter

If you have loved Amada's Kitchen, Magdalena, Alonzo , the rest of the staff and the great neighbors you usually see there, you will be thrilled to hear about the new space they just moved into. Starting on March 11, Amada's Mexican Restaurant and Bar is opening at possibly the best spot for a grand eatery in the Village. They are moved in and ready to serve more food and more customers at the spacious area of Fulton Square's 106 and 107, 6 Depot Street, Washingtonville, NY.

And the ambiance will have you going "Just WOW", with the cobalt blue bar counter space and an enormous table, the area adorned from end to end with stunning Mexican Art that is its own way both "contemporary" and "retro" (with a side of "country" detailed in large and small-scale metallic art chickens and a giant rooster. Along the porch black and white images of screen stars from 'back in the day' take customers to a different place and time, until they arrive at the bright yellow. orange and blue cove at the end which clearly says "Let's party!

There's something very special about 106 and 107 Fulton Square. It is the last 2 spots at the far right of Fulton Square. Aside from the sweet patio area for outdoor dining on the veranda in their specially decorated corner, they are also adjacent to Route 208 at the end of the building and....Wait for it!..... at the back of the building there is a significant yard within feet of where the new Schunnemunk Rail Trail will come through. And of course the couple has already planned to have dining tables and some decorations, and most likely some more fun and enchanting Mexican art.

The outdoor space may not look like much now. But in Spring and Summer you will see outdoor dining, probably some outdoor art and flowers, and maybe even a little music. Since the new Schunnemunk Trail will run along the right side of that corridor, chances are that there will be some hungry hikers who want to join in. The trail here is now full of brush, but soon Orange County will have a crew of men clearing it up and leveling the ground for hikers. You can see the white door between the 2 trees that is the back entrance, and clearly Amada's is the occupant of a a very large portion of the building. There is room for plenty of tables both in the interior and in the yard space...which I am betting is going to be more beautiful surprises.

AK TACOS & MAS

Meanwhile, the original eatery at 15 East Main Street will continue serving, but with an eye to helping those rushing along the street to somewhere and needing a snack at the new named "AK Tacos & Mas "

Magdalena says it like this "Our beloved family owned local business is making big changes in Washingtonville. Effective March 9th, Amada's Kitchen located at 15 Main Street is changing its name to AK TACOS & MAS. It will still be under the same ownership, having had 9 years of successful business! They will offer the traditional Mexican dishes the community enjoys; however since their primary eat-in restaurant is moving to 106 Depot St., the 15 East Main Main Street location will now be a grab and go taco place. Fresh lunches and steam tables will be available for people on the run. The Sanchez Family says " It has always been our vision that Amada's on Main St be more of a take out fun taco place with music and activities at the lot."

Magdalena Sanchez added, “I am excited to bring back Taco Tuesdays! All of this has been possible because of the support of you, its customers and friends. We look forward to serving you soon!" We are Open for Business on March 11th at 11am. Please call 845-614-5613 for information on either location or to place an order.

While the main purpose of both establishments is the Mexican food and friendship that has captured the heart of the surrounding community, you will undoubtedly be stunned by the beautiful art and decor. In addition to its intrinsic beauty, you will experience a lovely sense of "Today" and "Yesteryear".
